He speaks

"I know the Lord is speaking to me when I stop listening to sounds from the world that feed my sense of pride and ambition. Instead, I fall quiet, tune in to God's great world around me, and actively listen. Sometimes nature speaks, telling me of God's majesty and glory. Sometimes God's word speaks, reminding me of what God wants me to know. And sometimes the Spirit speaks, awakening my conscience, reminding me of failures, stirring my compassion and sense of justice, aligning me with God's will. I cannot control the voice of God or how it comes. I can only conrol my "ears"- my readiness to listen and quickness to respond." Philip Yancey

Baylor vs Texas Tech at "Jerry's World"

Blake, Emery Kate and I were able to go with Paul, Debbie, Brandon and Carrie to the baylor-tech game on Saturday. It was so much fun! That stadium is insane! The seats are leather. EK loved looking at the huge 50 yard screen! She had a great time and so did we! Baylor played so well...if only we had pulled it off.

"Da Da Da Da"

Emery Kate started saying "da da" yesterday. It was the sweetest thing. Although she initially said it to me...it has been so sweet to hear her say it! I think she knew her daddy was having surgery so she wanted him to know how much she loves him!

I love this stage that she is in. I don't want the days to pass so soon, but they do. It is so sad. Where did fall go? I see all these people already putting Christmas stuff up. I can't belive how fast time flies...

Smile :)

A sweet friend Virginie at lifegroup tonight said this about emery kate and it was so sweet I had to post it. She said "Her smile makes the world a beautiful place."

I know I have already posted this picture, but it captures her smile so well. I am so thankful for this precious girl! Happy Thanksgiving!

my little pumpkin is 6 months old

Casey took this picture and his wife erin made the onesie! Doesn't she look so sweet??
For all you Waco people, I found this outfit at I'm Yours. Isn't it cute? I wore I'm Yours shirts way too often and for way too long when I was younger. I saw a booth they had at round top and I loved their stuff. It reminds me of the good ole days.
A lot of the Mercy Place kiddos. We love mom's group! Emery Kate was hamming it up as you can tell!
EK was a ballerina for Halloween. Debbie gave her this outfit and she looked so cute. We went to a candy parade in our friend's neighborhood. It was really fun.

Hank got a little too cozy on my pillow. Trust me I washed the sheets...

Praise God...the EEG was normal!

my little rapunzel
these leads didn't get in the way of her playing
sleeping in daddy's arms
We are so thankful to the Lord that we can say her EEG was normal! She really didn't have very many of the episodes during the study (I believe due to your prayers) and the ones she had did not show any seizure activity. He diagnosed her with benign non-epileptic myoclonus. He said she should outgrow it by the time she is a year, maybe 2 years and the prognosis is excellent!!!
Emery Kate did so well with the whole thing. They had to glue the leads to her head and she did so well with it all. She is so sweet and we are so thankful that it is not seizures going on inside of her! Thank you for praying for her. We know she is loved. God is so good! I know He would be good even if they were seizures, but He is so gracious to us!
Blake had a CT scan this morning as well and so hopefully we will know in the next week or so whether he needs surgery! Keep him in your prayers. Thanks again!

Emery Kate and Daddy are such a cute couple at David and Kristen's wedding!
thank you for the beautiful dress Joy!
It is hard being a parent. Blake and I are realizing this. You don't want anything to be wrong with your child and yet things happen. First, Emery Kate had her first cold this week. It is so sad seeing them with a fever and horrible cough and runny nose. The sweet thing was that she was so cuddly. She would snuggle with us to fall asleep which she normally doesn't do anymore. It melts my heart. I know she is just going to get more independent and so I cherish those moments.
Secondly, for those of you who read this blog I ask that you would pray for her. She has been having these little spasms starting last week. We were sent to a neurologist on Friday and he believes they sound like infant seizures. These can be very neurologically devestating if not treated. Obviously, Blake and I are very concerned. We did a short EEG on Friday and it was negative...praise God, but he wants us to do a 24 hour EEG this week and possibly an MRI. So, please pray that everything will be okay and that they will figure out what is causing this or that these spasms would stop. It hurts Blake and I to watch her go through these. She is the sweetest baby in the world. We love her so much!
Thank you for believing with us that God is our healer and He is GOOD! We know that he knows what is best for Emery Kate and we just have to trust Him.
