goodbye to the cutest little webbed fingers

When Molly was born we noticed a simple syndactyly which is basically webbed fingers that only involve the skin. It looks like you could just snip it with some scissors but unfortunately you have to graft some skin from inside your wrist to provide room as the hand grows. Fortunately, though, we live in Dallas with Scottish Rite down the road with some of the best hand surgeons around.
I wanted to take some final pictures the night before surgery so I would always remember it. It's her left hand between her middle and ring finger so we had to fix it for her wedding ring one day, right? :)
Scottish Rite pre op is so different than Children's (much less busy!) Molly was the only patient for some of it!
Can't believe this was her second surgery in under a month! For those who don't know she had an EGD/Colonoscopy the end of August for some stomach problems she's been having. Sweet thing.

being silly after the little amout of versed that actually went in her mouth

post op (the surgery lasted around 1 1/2 hours)

we got her a special little puppy in the gift shop

never expected the cast to be SO HUGE! Apparently they have found that the whole hand covered prevents little ones from stuffing cheerios and such into the cast and having it all the way up the arm prevents it from sliding off.

sweet Jenny, Bebe and PawPaw came to watch EK and support Molls.
She has been a little rockstar with the cast. I love this picture b/c she was telling me it was "heavy". She has to wear it for 3 weeks. The hardest part is keeping her out of water and getting shirts to fit over it. Otherwise she is really doing awesome.
loved her little preppy look this morning for church with the sweater buttoned over the cast. Didn't know what else to do.
sweet & precious Molls....so proud of you.

little giants

Emery Kate is playing in a 3 year old league through the YMCA this fall. Blake is the coach- sweet dad that he is (it's not the easiest job!). Our team is called Little Giants.  EK may not love soccer but she sure looks cute in her gear.
 first practice

Duncan is on the team as well as Felix, Oscar and Luke! Fun for the kids and the parents!
 exhausted after the first practice

 first game
the goal of the games is to try and keep 5 kids interested enough to stay on the field. Actually scoring a goal or being focused on the game is just a huge bonus! EK is number 3 out there. She usually stays out there holding Blake's hand the whole time. Cute thing!
we sure have cute fans! Here's Hallie!
 Molly Dolly
the best part of soccer is the snacks at the end!

First Day of MDO 2012

catching up on my blog!

Emery Kate & Molly are going to Northwest Bible Church MDO on Tuesdays & Thursdays. EK went on Thursdays last year and we were really happy with it so they are both going this year. Usually Molly stays home with B on Tuesdays and just goes on Thursdays. She seems to like it too!

 Molly loves her backpack!

 Such a big girl!

This was EK's first day last year.
Thankful for a place where they have structured time, are learning about Jesus, they enjoy themselves and mommy can get some errands & appts done!

Camp ozark

We got to return to camp ozark over labor day weekend for the wedding of the owners daughter angela (an old family friend and one of my counselors at one point). The whole weekend was amazing! Being at camp was so fun but the wedding itself was soooo nice! You would never have known you were at a camp! The wedding was incredibly nice! They even has babysitters for us! I left my camera so all these pics are from my phone!

EK picked a top bunk right away but never actually slept on it!

Wacky world was our favorite spot!

These motor powered little boats were a big hit too for the kids and adults!

We had a western night on one of the nights!

Love this of them!

And this!

Cuties!

In jail at western night!

Hay ride

Sweet hallie

We had a great time! So happy for Angela and Stephan!

Emery Kate is already talking about when she can go back!

(I'm also sad I didn't get any pics with Rachel! She was there as the date of an old counselor at camp!! Absolutely loved seeing her!!!!)
