Leslie's wedding & the funny farm!

Emery Kate spent her first night at the funny farm! We rode the mule down to the tank and she got to watch the dogs fetch in the water. Hank and Abby love it there! they get to really be dogs! Thanks for watching them Bebe and PawPaw!

My dear friend Leslie Rister (now Kvasnicka) got married on Saturday. She was a beautiful bride and the wedding was gorgeous and so sweet! I was honored to be a part. Thank you Blake, Mimi, Coach and Grandmommy for watching Emery Kate this weekend!

Baseball, Weddings & more!

Emery Kate is a trooper! This weekend she went to her first Ranger's game and her first wedding. She did great! Blake's grandfather, Paul Marable Jr., was honored at the Ranger's game for his service in WWII. They honored men from each war since WWII. He was involved in the invasion of Normandy and was a P.O.W. in Germany. In this picture he is shaking Nolan Ryan's hand. He was really excited to get to meet him.
Robin and Jon Cook were married on Saturday. Emery was quiet during the ceremony and we had a great time. Doesn't she look cute in her outfit!

Life as a one week old

Emery Kate is doing so great! She really is a great baby...a good sleeper and eater, what more could I ask for?? Here are some cute new pictures of her. One of the pictures shows her in the "miracle blanket". It is a blanket that really keeps them swaddled at night and it has been awesome for her. It does seem like we are putting her in a straight jacket, but it works! It was recommended by her pediatrician! My friend Marci has a funny blog about the miracle blanket b/c her son is almost 5 months now and it isn't really holding him anymore. But, it works great for now!
There is also a picture of her and her friend Audrey. They had their first "play date" today going on a walk to Starbucks. Don't they look like they were having fun together?
Mary B...hope you are enjoying the pics! Emery can't wait to meet you!!!!

Family

I am at home eagerly awaiting Emery's arrival and I started looking at some pictures from this summer and fall of my family. I love my family. I feel so blessed by my family. I was looking at these pictures and realizing how much our family has been through since they were taken. I see my mom and all the pictures of her with jayden and my heart remembers finding out over Christmas that she has alzheimer's. My mom is the most amazing woman in the world. I am certain of it. She loves people like no one else and the news of her diagnosis was more than I could handle at first. Now, I am trusting the Lord for healing and she is doing so great! It is so wonderful to see...I can't wait to see her with Emery and all her other future grandchildren b/c I know she will love them so much and they will love her...

I see pictures of my dad. My heart is filled with PRAISE to the Lord for us finding out about all of his occluded arteries from a cath and not after he had dropped from a heart attack running or something like that. It was hard to see my dad in the hospital as a patient and weak. He is one of the strongest people I know. He is so committed to everything he does....his wife, his children, his family, his work, his church, his friends, his hobbies. He is one who takes full advantage of LIFE and so it is so weird to see him have to halt everything on the road to recovery. I am so thankful that he is improving each day and to see what all the Lord teaches him and us through this process. He and my mom have really had to depend on each other this year. It is a beautiful thing.

I see pictures of MB and it just makes me miss her! She has been in Italy since January and I miss her so much! I love her and can't wait to hug her...we have been through so much with her away. I love my sisters.

I love Christy. She is the oldest of the kids and always the strong one in these hard situations. When things are hard I just cry...she is always so strong. Christy just found out yesterday that she has to be on bedrest the rest of her pregnancy (she is 29 weeks). Her cervix is already shortening and the chance for preterm labor is very high, so she has to do something very hard for her...stay at home and rest. She is a go getter and she has one of the most active 21 month olds you will meet. I know this is going to be so hard for her, it breaks my heart. But, I am so thankful they caught this when they did. She would have kept running going and who knows when she would have gone into labor. Pray for her and Jordan and Jayden during this time. I am so thankful for my sisters.

Thankfully, Jason and Alex are doing well...I love them so much too! I feel so blessed to live close to Jason and Alex. They are so fun to be with and I just love how Jason has really encouraged us all spiritually through these last few months. He is quick to send an email or encouragement to all of us. Thank you Bud...I love you.

Blake, thank you for being such a loving and supportive husband through all of this. I know it has been hard on you too b/c you love my family so much too. I can't wait for Emery to come and for us to start our own family! What a heritage we come from....thanks mom and dad and thanks paul, debbie and cindy.

sorry this is so long...just random thoughts on this rainy day as I am about to POP!
