Mary Beth and the girls made Burson a welcome home banner! so cute!
Burson walked full force into girl world over here! The first time in his swing he was covered by about 10 girl/doll blankets.
Molly was in full girl mode haha!
EK started loving on her brother right away. She LOVES to hold him and does a great job!
Sugarmonster came to visit Burson. I love how little he looks here. I love my sweet grandpa.
being silly with EK
So thankful to have two weeks with my mom. She was such a help loving on Burson and the girls! I pray I am a mom like her to my kids! We miss you already Mimi!
after his first bath...not happy!
hard to get a pic of all them looking
Burson had a little fold on his left ear and an angle on his right ear that required ear molds to prevent surgery in the future. It is really neat b/c if you have these placed within 10 days of age the ear is still moldable enough that it will get back in the right shape. Of course I was bawling in the office when he got them placed b/c they had to shave his cute little hair and he has to have them on for 6 weeks. Apparently most moms cry said the doctor. Lots of hormones going on the first week after delivery.
Here was his last pic without his ear molds.
this was the first step
this was his left ear....so sad seeing his head shaved.
He was so sweet and calm the entire time.
still a cutie even with the ear molds on
on saturday we went in for a weight check b/c his weight wasn't picking up as quickly as he should. I had the doctor come and peek at him b/c he looked pretty jaundiced and sure enough we checked him and it was 17.1 on day 8 so he had to go under the lights. You can tell his eyes are pretty yellow in the pic below. Well the first night under the lights we all noticed he was really working to breathe. I spoke to my pediatrician and he suggested we go to an acute care place. We took him and were sent to the ER. I decided to take him to Legacy Children's b/c I figured it would be less crowded. Sure enough the waiting room was completely empty! Ha! See pic below. They did a chest xray that was normal and ended up deep suctioning him even though he sounded perfect and got some thick secretions so they think that was the problem. so thankful everything was ok! It was scary.
