Sick Dogs

This has been a hectic week in the Marable household. It started Sunday morning when we woke up to throw up in the kennel. There were a few more episodes during the day and we thought it was Abby who was sick. Then I noticed Hank was acting very lethargic and that night I went to feed them and he didn't even move at the sound of food hitting his bowl! If you know Hank, he LOVES to eat and so we knew something was wrong. That next day he was still throwing up and not eating. We had him sleep in the bathroom and I checked on him periodically throughout the night. He wasn't getting better so I took him to the vet on tuesday where we found his weight had dropped from 67 lbs in October to 50lbs!!! He looked so thin, you can see in the picture how thin he looks in his backside. Well, they gave him lots of fluid and antibiotics and sent him home....although they wanted to hospitalize him overnight. We were begging him to eat and drink. It was awful. I had to go to work the next day and I was crying to my friends over it...I am ridiculous. It is hard having a sick dog b/c they are like a baby and can't tell you what hurts! I am thankful to have friends who don't make fun of me for being so attached to a dog!

well, blake went home wednesday and we were able to get him to eat some deli turkey meat! It was so great! Slowly his energy has come back and he ate like himself tonight! We are thrilled. But....Abby wouldn't eat tonight and we just found that she threw up! So, who knows we may have another sick dog on our hands!!! We think Abby made herself throw up because she saw all the extra attention we gave Hank! We are exhausted parents :)

It is so sweet, though, because our work Bible study meets at my house on Mondays and so everyone saw Hank and knew he looked horrible. They all were telling me that he definitely needed to go to the vet. The next day you would have thought I had a sick kid in the hospital from all their calls and text messages! Hank is so loved....it was so sweet! If only he knew all the people who cared for him!

The nursery is coming along!!!

The nursery is coming along! My dad built the crib and it looks so great! He did such an amazing job! Thank you Dad!!! I will always treasure it!
I still need to organize everything, but the big parts of the nursery are finished! yea! It makes me so excited for Emery to be here! As you can tell, the dogs are so intrigued by the nursery. We don't really let them in very often b/c we would like the room to be dog hair free for at least a day when Emery comes home! Sorry Hank! Blake and I love sitting in the room and getting excited about her arrival! Enjoy the pics!!

Emery Kate at 28 weeks

Here is a picture of Emery's profile taken at 28 weeks! Isn't she so cute! I feel like we really got a good glimpse of her! Blake labeled everything if you are not good at reading sonos!
Also...a funny thing. The sonographer was saying that her mouth was open so she must be hungry! Blake and I laughed b/c he always makes fun of me that my mouth is always open, even when I sleep! Christy is the same way, and sometimes Jason. We can't close our mouth....it's why we always smile :)
Anyway...I think Emery must have some Sudan genes in there!!!

A Weekend to Remember

This weekend Blake and I went to the Family Life Weekend to Remember marriage conference. It was a wedding gift from the Murchison's and we were glad to use it before Emery comes. We had a great time. It was at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. That hotel/conference center is HUGE. This picture is us by the "river walk" in the hotel lobby! The conference reminded me how thankful I am to be married to Blake!

Paul's 60th Surprise Party

Last weekend we headed down to Waco to celebrate Blake's dad's 60th birthday! All the kids and Debbie threw the surprise party at Uncle Dan's. It was fun! Blake's dad is such a sweet man and I think he enjoyed having all his family with him.

The day before we had a 28 week sonogram of sweet Emery! She was already 3 1/2 pounds and we got such a good picture of her face and profile. It made us so excited to meet her! I wish you all could have seen her sweet face! We tried to upload the profile picture of her, but it didn't work!

The Beginning!

Well, I am really excited to finally have my own blog! I love looking at other people's blogs and so I decided to start one of my own! Blake didn't know what we would write about until we had a baby, so I waited until then to start my own blog! Now I am due in April with our first child! We are having a little girl and naming her Emery Kate! We are so excited to be parents. I am a little scared, but can't wait to meet her! She is kicking and moving constantly which makes it even more real! I think I drive Blake crazy b/c I have him feel her move all the time! It is just so amazing!

Blake and I have been married almost 3 1/2 years! We were junior high (yes 7th grade!) sweethearts and after some off and on dating in high school, we stayed together all through college and got married after that! We have had such a great time being married. Blake is going to be the best dad! I can't wait to see him in that role! We have had so much fun working on the nursery and just getting our little home ready to house a baby! I will post pictures of the nursery when we get further along :)

Anyway, I am excited about blogging and will keep you updated on the pregnancy and everything! Blessings :)
